Frequently Asked Questions

IMPORTANT NOTICE: During our Covid19 remote operations, we are available by chat and phone during working hours, or email at any time. Dual Enrollment forms can be submitted online, but still require manual processing that can take up to 5-7 working days.

Holds and registration blocks refer to fines or other admission blocks unrelated to the dual enrollment approval process. To be ready to register as a dual enrollment student you need to make sure your parent consent form is on file, you have a current application, and your course approval form has been processed. In addition, math/English prerequisites may also be a factor. All forms can take up to 5-7 working days to process from the time we receive them. However, we encourage students to check regularly in case they are processed sooner. See the following two links to check the status of those requirements.

We have one summer session for 2023, which means if you graduated on or after June 5th you are still considered a dual enrollment student.  Therefore, you will need to apply for summer session as a dual enrollment student.  In the fall of 2023 you will need to submit a new application as a first-time college student, not as a dual enrollment student. If you need to correct this, please contact the admissions technician assigned to your last name here sbcc.edu/admissions. We can waive the orientation/class advising holds for Summer Session 2023  if you contact our office from your pipeline email and include your SBCC ID # in the request.

Admissions and Records has prepared a website dedicated to common problems students face when registering.

SBCC email uses Gmail, so see Google's helpful tutorial on email forwarding.

Yes. When a course has a pre-requisite requirement, it means that a student must possess a certain amount of pre-existing knowledge to be successful in the course. If the class you are registering in has a pre-requisite requirement, you can challenge the prerequisite or have a counselor submit a data validation form. See the following link for more information Prerequisites And Placement. The pre-requisite requirement must be cleared by SBCC prior to course registration. This can take 7-10 working days. There are no exceptions to this policy.
